It is very inviting to stay outdoors on a nice sunny day. Having good food and company makes at a little bit more special. Nothing reminds us of a sunny day than a glass of Bloody Mary in hand. Having all those flavors in a glass is simply wonderful. For those who want to try out something new, here are 2 fun recipes derived from a timeless classic.
Gazpacho Bloody Mary
You will certainly love this yellow-orange drink. This will make your brunch really memorable. The recipe below easily serves two.
1 tomato, seeded and chopped (yellow)
1 carrot, roughly chopped (medium)
1 rib celery, chopped
1 small cucumber, peeledand chopped
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
3 oz. chilled vodka
1. Combine tomatoes, carrots, celery, cucumbers, in a blender; purée. Add salt and pepper to taste. Strain and discard solids. Chill
2. Before serving, stir in vodka.
Tomatillo Bloody Mary
This recipe gives out a cool green hue and is very refreshing to boot. You will definitely feel healthier after drinking this one. The following recipe is good for two servings.
3 tomatillos, washed,and seeded
2 medium tomatoes (green)
1 small cucumber
2 garlic cloves
1 sprig fresh cilantro
1 sprig parsley, (preferably flat leaf)
1⁄2 seeded Serrano chili
Salt (as needed)
3 ounces of vodka
2 scallions (whole), for garnish
2 wedges of lime, for garnish
1. Puree garlic, tomatillos, cucumber, tomatoes, cilantro, chili, and parsley, in a blender. Put in salt as necessary or according to your taste.
2. Before serving, mix in vodka and add in scallions and herbs to glass. Garnish glass rims with the lime wedges.
